Immerse yourself in the music and culture of Ghana!  We’ll sing, dance, drum and learn about this vibrant West African nation.  Whether you’re traveling to Ghana with SANS or not, this will be a joyful, fun and eye-opening peek into the daily life, customs, cultures, languages, music, dance and people of Ghana.

WORKSHOP LEADERS:

Joe and Vida Galeota
Former associate professor at Berklee College of Music and Tufts University, Joe Galeota lived and studied music in Ghana for many years, and his wife, Vida, grew up there. Together, they present “a day in the life of Ghana” workshops in public schools throughout New England.  Joe is the former Director of the Berklee Ghanaian drum and dance ensemble.

Manwunyo Kobla (M.K.) Titiati
M.K. Titiati is a drum teacher and performer who serves as Program Administrator for the Applied Music department at Tufts University.   M.K. has been teaching SANS several Ghanian songs in preparation for our Spring Concert, “Woyaya” and our tour to Ghana this summer.
