Equal Exchange fundraising project: This fall, SANS has launched an exciting fundraising campaign in association with Equal Exchange. For every purchase our members make through the lovely catalog of Equal Exchanges coffee, tea, chocolate, gifts and jewelry, SANS will receive 40% of the purchase price. Each member who would like to participate should ask either Sandy Machson, Louise Grasmere or Linda Shoemaker for a catalog. Next you ask your friends and family to purchase a few things or you purchase gifts for your friends and family. If each member sells $100 or more items, we will reach our fundraising goal of $3,000.00 We believe that the missions of SANS and Equal Exchange are aligned and that this will provide a new and wonderful way to support both organizations. Orders and checks are due Monday, November 16. All goods purchased will be provided to you between Dec 7 and Dec 14th. If you want to read more about how this works, visit Equal Exchange Fundraising http://equalexchange.coop/ee-and-you/fundraising.
A Colombian Connection. Thank you, Yaffa! Yaffa Bibi has made a connection with a synagogue in Cartagena. They have offered to host SANS Jewish members for Seder on the first night of Passover. The synagogue is Centro Israelita Sefardi in Cartagena. It is an Orthodox congregation. Yaffa has spoken and received confirmation from Rabbi Joaquin Montoya, who assures us that this will be a common Seder. Although there are several other synagogues in Colombia, we have not yet found other synagogues in Cartagena.
Colombia trip application and trip deposit: We will be sending you a link to the online trip application next week. Applications are due November 9 with a $500 trip deposit.

*Belfast Community Gospel Choir (BCGC) at Twelfth Baptist in Roxbury, Saturday, October 24 at 5 p.m (Jonathan and his band are opening for this choir!):* Belfast Community Gospel Choir (BCGC) is Northern Ireland’s first and only multicultural gospel choir. We are much sought-after due to our dynamic performances, which are charged with joy, passion and energy.
Our choir performs at concerts, civic and charitable and corporate events, festivals and weddings etc. Although based in Belfast, our choir members come from all parts of the province. BCGC is comprised of over 100 auditioned singers who perform in various-sized ensembles.
We take great pride in the fact that our community is multicultural and cross-community. Following decades of violence, division and political upheaval in Northern Ireland we are committed to performing music that carries the message of love, joy and peace and to promoting a positive image of our country! https://www.facebook.com/events/1653298114940388/
